BonelliErede received four awards at the 2018 Legalcommunity Energy Awards on 30 January – organised to recognise the previous year’s key players in the energy sector. The firm was crowned “Law firm of the year – Finance”, and two of our professionals also took home two individual awards: Mario Roli received the “Lawyer of the year – Energy & Utilities” award, and Gabriele Malgeri was among the winners of the “Rosella Antonucci” award (given for the past two years to the previous year’s exceptional young professionals in the energy sector).

BonelliErede was also among the legal advisors that received the “Deal of the year” award – this year for the project which will connect Italy and France through a direct current electrical interconnection.

Among the reasons for crowning BonelliErede “Law firm of the year – Finance”, the judging panel highlighted the team’s role in the most important deals that shaped the market. It is that that sets BonelliErede apart from its competitors.

As to the judges’ reasoning for the individual awards, Mario Roli was crowned “Lawyer of the year – Energy & Utilities” for being the leader of “a team with a strong focus on utilities that over the years has become a reference point in the sector’s consolidation process”. And Gabriele Malgeri received the “Rosella Antonucci” award thanks to his ability to “interpret the work and always go beyond the technicalities and gain an in-depth understanding of the client’s business and the market in which it operates”.
