Eighth edition of the Franco Bonelli Memorial Scholarship kicks off
31 January 2024

For the eighth year now, BonelliErede is granting two scholarships in memory of one of its founders, Franco Bonelli, to enable young law graduates to further their studies abroad.

The scholarships are open to graduates who: (a) achieved a score of at least 105 at an Italian university or an equivalent score at a European university; (b) are EU citizens; and (c) intend to pursue their studies in Europe or the US in one or more of the following areas: corporate law and corporate governance, privatisation, international trade, anti-bribery, and environmental damage.

One scholarship is to attend a master’s (LLM or similar, lasting at least eight months) and the other to carry out a six-month research programme (PhD or research for a book or article) – at a European or a US university. The winning applicant for the master’s will also be invited to attend a six-month internship at one of our offices.

Managing Partner Eliana Catalano and President Massimiliano Danusso had this to say: “We are glad to keep Franco Bonelli’s memory and teachings alive, nine years after his untimely death, by giving talented young people access to universities of excellence. It is a testimony of our continuous commitment to civil society, in this case by supporting the education of young scholars and future lawyers,” commented.

Applications must be emailed or posted to Elisabetta Gargioni at BonelliErede by 3 April (email: bonellierede.formazione@belex.com; post: Via Michele Barozzi 1, 20122 Milan).
The application details are available here.

Scholarships will be awarded by 15 May by a commission comprising Profs. Sabino Cassese (chair), Giovanni Domenichini and Piergaetano Marchetti.
