BonelliErede continues its commitment to the environment with the planting of 200 new trees in Rome
14 June 2024

BonelliErede and Magnetic Media Network S.p.A. (MMN), in collaboration with Rete Clima, announce the planting of 200 trees in the Mezzocammino district in Rome’s IX Municipality. The initiative, which is linked to the upgrade of Xerox printers at BonelliErede’s Rome office, involved an area of approximately three hectares, which will become a nature park.

For the occasion, BonelliErede took action to raise social awareness and promote team building in the Rome office, which involved about 20 volunteers from the firm who went to Mezzocammino to plant the first of the 200-strong lot.

Silvia Romanelli, partner at BonelliErede and head of the Rome office, commented: “We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Magnetic Media Network S.p.A. and Rete Clima in Rome – it enables us to contribute to reforestation and to reducing the carbon footprint of our activities, such as document printing, in the historically significant Mezzocammino. It is a further step in the broader path towards sustainability that began a few years ago with the support of our stakeholders, and which recently earned us the EcoVadis bronze. This medal came as a result of an in-depth assessment which looked at the initiatives and policies we implement with regard to various areas, including the environment and, more specifically, our environmental policy on waste management and energy consumption. We are fully committed to this path and hope to help promote a caring culture for the protection of the environment and biodiversity. Taking concrete action at home, in the communities you are a part of, is indispensable for future generations and should be a priority for all organisations, including private ones such as our firm”.

The Rome initiative continues the path that BonelliErede set out on in 2021, when it planted 400 oak and hornbeam trees in Cormano (Milan), followed by about 750 trees and shrubs in the Paneveggio Nature Park in 2022. The next initiative will the Genoa office planting 200 trees and will complete the decarbonisation of the printing processes across all the firm’s Italian offices.
