Leading international law firm BonelliErede boosts its Healthcare Focus Team with two key international hires marking another important step in the firm’s transition from Italian market leader to international player.
Helen Roberts brings industry, regulatory and compliance expertise after working across EMEA in senior counsel roles for Abbott, Novartis Oncology and Sanofi, advising innovator and generic businesses. For 10 years she joined an authority that regulates the promotion of medicines. She is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales. She will be based in BonelliErede’s London office.
Vincenzo Salvatore has spent almost eight years as Head of Legal Service at the European Medicines Agency, the EU regulatory agency in the pharmaceutical sector. He joins BonelliErede’s Milan office from international law firm Sidley Austin, where he spent three years as Senior Counsel.
A key part of the firm’s transition is developing an increasingly sector-orientated approach to its work with clients, heightening its commercial understanding of their businesses and enabling its lawyers to be more nuanced in the advice they give. The bolstering of the Healthcare Focus Team with these international hires is key to this.
The Healthcare Focus Team has been highly successful since its inception. Its initial focus was on transactional, anti-trust / competition, IP and domestic regulatory advisory work. By adding specialist EU regulatory expertise to this team through these two hires, and at the highest possible level in the industry, BonelliErede becomes far and away the Italian market leader in legal advice to the pharma industry worldwide, able to advise multinationals anywhere who are looking to trade in Europe. It is the first only firm in Italy to launch a practice in EU regulatory pharma law.
