To further implement the industrial park scheme, a new law setting requirements for the designation of special economic zones and the related rules to carry on business in those zones (“SEZ”/ “SEZs”) was enacted in May to boost the economy and foreign investments. Two types of SEZs and three types of permits (developer, operator, or enterprise investment permit) have been introduced to reflect the status investors wish to have.
