Covid-19 and the sports industry: the first in a series of analyses looks at liability issues as sports kick off again
6 May 2020

The professional and amateur sports world – especially ‘minor’ sports – is one of the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and the authorities’ related containment measures.

As sports start to kick off again, our Sports Law Focus Team will be publishing a series of analyses of the main issues of interest, such as the management of contracts with athletes, the fate of sponsorship contracts and TV rights, the possibility of sports clubs to take advantage of the various measures to support liquidity, and other solutions to combat the negative effects of the crisis.

What regulatory rules must sports clubs respect in the operational management of “Phase 2” to limit liability connected with getting back on the field/court, etc., and the protection of employees’ and sports professionals’ health?

If you would like a copy of the analysis carried out by our Sports Law Focus Team, in coordination with our Covid-19 Task Force, just email covid19@belex.com.
